Israeli Protests Lead to Economic Reform Plan

Jerusalem, Sept. 27 - The Israeli government and parliament are to consider the recommendations of a special committee which aim to ease economic hardships for the working and middle classes.

The Trajtenberg panel published its proposals Tuesday (Sept. 26). The document received a mixed reaction with leaders of the protesters calling for change saying their campaign will continue until their demands are met.

Hundreds of thousands of Israelis joined in the demonstrations throughout the country in the region’s most vibrant and peaceful democracy.
