The Tower Magazine September Issue Debuts

The September Issue of The Tower Magazine, the leading e-magazine on Middle East affairs, offers original reporting on the benefits of establishing an independent Kurdish state; the contrasting duality of the United Nations and Iran's efforts to evade international sanctions—as well as several other stories.

Since its launch, the online monthly has quickly become a leading source of original writing, reporting, research and policy on the region. Visit TIP’s project section for more information on The Tower Magazine.

Highlights include:

Say It Again. Kurdish Independence Now

  • Syria and Iraq have failed. In both countries, a northern region has become an island of civil order and pro-Western sentiment. JONATHAN SPYER makes the case for Kurdistan.

Why I Sometimes Don't Fully Hate the UN

  • BEN COHEN looks at the growing division at the United Nations between a world body committed to good and an instrument for dictators and oppressive regimes around the world.

Iran is *Really* Good at Evading Sanctions

  • EMANUELE OTTOLENGHI exposes Iran’s use of “a dizzying array” of front companies—particularly in Germany—to advance its illicit nuclear program.
